Black Friday Drum Workshop November 27, 2015
Open to beginner drum students from ages 7-12. Students will be exposed to basic drum concepts, ryhthm, rudiments, etc. All equipment will be provided.
This workshop will run from 10am-1pm on Friday, November 28th.
About the instructor...
John DiGiulio is an extremely versatile drummer / percussionist with over 20 years performing experience comfortable in any musical situation. Rock solid timing with the ability to read, write and transcribe music by ear. John has studied under the acclaimed drummers Alan Dawson and Gary Chaffee. John has been a drum instructor with School of Rock since 2007! Toured with: Gloria Gaynor, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Mel C, Papa Chubby, John Secada, Flo and Eddie, The Marlowes. Musical Director: Musical Director for acts such as Lou Christie, Spencer Davis Group, Freddie Cannon and a Music contracting work with several high profile agents. Performed with: Herman’s Hermits, The Shirelle's, Rascals, Tokens, Jackie Martling (Howard Stern Show), Gary US Bonds, Martha and The Vandellas, David Cassidy, Barry Manilow, Paul Simon. Recordings: Soundtracks with Eric Clapton, Taylor Dayne, Natalie Merchant, Deneice Williams, Psych!, First Edition, "Charmed" Opening theme with Tim & Rich Butler of the Psychedelic Furs, Aria, Joan Osborne, Nelly. TV Appearances: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2009, Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, Tonight Show, Maurey Povich, Ohne Filter (Germany), numerous commercials. Awards: Two Grammy Nominations for Production on Little Anthony & The Imperials "Pure Acapella" – (2005) Long Island Music Hall of Fame Inductee with Little Anthony & The Imperials - October (2006) Additional Performances: Broadway - Damn Yankees, Rent, Mama Mia, (Las Vegas & New York) Crazy For You, Performances as sideman with top N.Y.C.
